COVID-19 Small Business Relief Grant - Ontario

As per the Ontario Government announcement eligible businesses subject to closures because the provinces move to the modified to step 2 of the roadmap to reopen will receive a grant of $10,000. 

 

To receive the grant, your business must be required to close due to public health orders that took effect on January 5, 2022, and don’t have more than 100 employees.

The eligible businesses previously qualified for the Ontario Small Business Support Grant and fulfill the above criteria will be pre-screened to verify eligibility and will not need to apply for the new program.

Newly established and newly eligible small businesses will need to apply. 

As per the Ontario Government announcement, some of the small businesses that are eligible for the grant are:

  • restaurants and bars
  • facilities for indoor sports and recreational fitness activities (including fitness centers and gyms)
  • performing arts and cinemas
  • museums, galleries, aquariums, zoos, science centers, landmarks, historic sites, botanical gardens, and similar attractions
  • performing arts venues and cinemas, museums, galleries, aquariums, zoos, science centers, landmarks, historic sites, botanical gardens, and similar attractions
  • meeting or event spaces
  • tour and guide services
  • conference centers and convention centers
  • driving instruction for individuals
  • before- and after- school programs
